A Functional Ingredient Produced from Perilla Leaf Extract, Cultivated on Contracted Hokkaido Farms
Benegut®, developed in collaboration by Amino Up and a German company, is a natural ingredient extracted from the leaves of perilla plants grown on local contract Hokkaido farms.
Perilla is a well-known anti-inflammatory, and due to our extract being water-soluble, pleasant-tasting and pleasant-smelling, it can be used in a wide range of applications, from food and cosmetics, to pharmaceuticals.
What Functions does Benegut® Have?
Benegut® is currently undergoing research into modulation of over-production of TNF (Tumor Necrosis Factor) caused by inflammation, and the modulation of gut function.
Where is Benegut® made?
Benegut® is produced from perilla grown under contract on Hokkaido farmland by local farmers.
This is then dried, powdered, and extracted to produce the perilla extract used in the production of Benegut®

The development of Benegut® started with one simple question – ‘Why does Japanese sashimi always come with a perilla leaf?’
Benegut® is manufactured from locally produced perilla leaves, which have a long history of human consumption and are regarded as safe. Furthermore, Benegut® has been through strict safety and toxicology testing.
